Africa Star

Awarded for service in North Africa between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943. The ribbon is pale buff (desert) with a central vertical red stripe (Army), and narrower dark blue (Navy and Merchant Navy) and light blue (Air Force) stripes. Three clasps could be awarded with this medal: ‘North Africa 1942-43’, ‘8th Army’ and ‘1st Army’. Naval personnel could only qualify for the ‘North Africa 1942-43’ clasp, for inshore service. Note: the full-size medal is struck in a gold-tone finish; the miniature is bronze-tone, matching original wartime issue conventions. Images are a representation only – actual medals may vary slightly in colour, material finish or design due to manufacturing. Turnaround: approximately 7-14 days.
